Ficus auriculata - Ara

This is a small tree that is just planted for two years (growth is not so well).
But the tree height is just nice for me to observe every parts of it clearly.

The tree can grow up to 3m - 5m.

Ripe figs are reddish in color.
These are unripe.

The young figs of this plant are eaten raw as ulam with sambal belacan.

Sometimes, the young figs are added in the preparation of curry, especially mutton curry.

The ripe figs are sweet and can be used to make good jam.
