Life as planter in oil palm plantation

Alright, back to oil palm plantation. Last last post I was talking about Serdang, Kedah this unheard town. It is indeed a so called "cowboy town" where you can imagine dried hays rolling all over the places.

I am grateful to have a mini market for buying groceries.

*Imagine invisible dried hays rolling*

In oil palm plantation, the management goes the military way.

Early in the morning, everyone gather and have a muster call.

Why? Because there are almost 200 workers, they can be difficult to be managed by a small team of less than 10 people. If you are not careful, they can turn the table and manage you instead.

Office

Horrible looking bunny recycle bin

Tractors of course

Apparently it is stuck

Drums of chemical

Oil palm trees of course

More trees

Worker attempt to harvest fruit bunch from 3-4 years old oil palm tree.
Much less effort than harvesting from a 10 metres tree.
