Free Dieffenbachia !

So I found a cluster of wild Dieffenbachia (commonly know as dumb cane) growing among the oil palm trees.

However, I do not quite like it despite of their attractive foliage because of their toxicity.

Source: Wikipedia
The cells of the Dieffenbachia plant contain needle-shaped calcium oxalate crystals called raphides. If a leaf is chewed, these crystals can cause a temporary burning sensation and erythema. In patients with exposure to toxic plants, 70% are children younger than 5 years.

Despite their toxicity, they are actually great air purifier. They clean formaldehyde and other toxins from the air. We have formaldehyde in our homes from paper towels, garbage bags, tissues, carpet backing, and floor coverings. Dieffenbachia removes not only formaldehyde, but also xylene and toluene - two other pollutants.
